The Rideau Lakes members who toured with the Kawartha Lakes Region did all that and more when we toured the byways of the Kawartha and Haliburton lakes north of Lindsay.

Friday am June 9, 6 cars met at County Fair Mall ready to go and anticipating the ride. We headed to Perth on Hwy 7, after stopping for lunch in Norwood and a leg stretch we moved on to our Motel in Lindsay around 3 pm.

Bud and Sharon Murray lead us on to Tracey and Tom Murphy's where the Kawartha members hosted a delicious beef dinner with salads and dessert. No one left hungry.

Saturday morning drivers meeting at 9 am,  leaving at 9:30, we had a total of 22 cars. Beautiful drive, stopping at a Maple Sugar Shack for a catered lunch of pulled pork, salads and desserts. Full again!  After driving an hour or more we had our mandatory ice cream of course and then back to the motel for happy hour.  In the motel garden, both clubs met for happy hour and pizza for an evening of laughs and stories retold.

On Sunday it was a trip back in time to Graem and Audrey Little's beautiful farm outside of Valentia.  The Littles have an awesome collection of  … well just about everything ...from old fan belts, tin toys, oil cans, garage signs and many bicycles of all shapes and sizes and many with their own unique history.  This is all stored and organized on their working dairy farm.  A slice of life we city folk rarely see.

Scenic roads, sunshine, delicious food, great new friends and wonderful memories, – the best ingredients for a great tour and we had it all.  Our thanks to Kawartha Lakes Region
